About Plastics Europe

Plastics Europe is the advocacy body of the European plastics-producing industry, headquartered in Brussels. The association represents the economic interests of its member companies vis-à-vis European policy, including publicly named companies such as BASF, and is a partner organisation of the European chemical association CEFIC. It acts as a catalyst for transformation within the plastics industry and together with partners across the entire value chain, in particular on topics such as the circular economy, recycling (mechanical and chemical), climate neutrality by 2050 and innovation. To this end, the association operates a knowledge platform (knowledge hub), organises events and publishes analyses such as the annual report "The Circular Economy for Plastics". The German branch PlasticsEurope Deutschland e.V., based in Frankfurt am Main, represents the industry's interests in Germany, among other things with a plea for securing plastics production at the German location. Since 2013, the association has been registered in the EU Transparency Register.
