About Plastifil
Plastifil SA is a Swiss family-owned company based in Mendrisio that manufactures custom-made steel wire products. Founded in 1934, the company is now run by the fourth generation and develops solutions together with customers for the medical technology, precision engineering, food and design industries. On a production area of over 12,000 m², most process steps are carried out in-house: straightening and cutting, bending, welding, laser cutting, milling, grinding, forging and laser engraving as well as electroplating and powder coating – the latter also as a contract finishing service. Around 95% of processes are controlled internally, about 95% of production consists of customer-developed special solutions, and an average of 250 new projects are launched per year. Products include, among others, FDA-compliant baskets, containers as well as modular washing and sterilization systems.
