About Powerlink
Powerlink H2 GmbH, based in Wels (Austria), develops storage and energy solutions for a sustainable energy supply. Its portfolio includes battery storage systems for grid stabilization, intelligent energy management and sector coupling between electricity, heat and gas. By-products such as heat and oxygen are utilized and storage systems are deployed flexibly, so that renewable energy is not lost but remains reliably and economically usable. The target groups are grid operators, energy suppliers, energy-intensive industrial companies and mechanical and plant engineering. The company's registered purpose is mechanical and plant engineering. In research and development, Powerlink has been involved in the ThermoGreenHydrogen project since 2024, an initiative implemented with the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria and K1-MET with a volume of 2.6 million euros, in which unused heat energy is converted into hydrogen by means of thermoelectricity; a demonstration plant is being built at the KWG in Schwanenstadt. The company is led by DI (FH) Markus Adenbeck and is backed by an owner group with industry experience, including representatives of KE KELIT, LSG Group and other holding companies.
