About us
Prechtl Engineering GmbH is an engineering office for product development, design and calculation based in Traunstein in the Chiemgau region. The company was founded in 1991 by Jakob Prechtl and renamed Prechtl Engineering GmbH in 2009. It offers complete services or individual work steps, from idea generation through feasibility studies, concept development, 3D models and design drafts to drawings, documentation and visualisation. A core area is calculation and simulation using FEM (finite element method), which is employed early in the product development process to make detailed knowledge available faster and to reduce the number of prototypes. For design work, the team uses the CAD systems SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor, CREO, Solid Edge and NX as well as ERP/PDM interfaces; for simulation, ANSYS is used on a high-performance computing machine. Customers come from the industries of machine tools, medical technology, drive technology, automation, the packaging industry, vehicle construction, special-purpose machinery, the food industry and jig and fixture building. The company employs eight staff and has been an IHK-recognised training company since 2006.
