About Privatbrauerei Gaffel
Privatbrauerei Gaffel Becker & Co. OHG is a fourth-generation Cologne family brewery whose best-known brand is Gaffel Kölsch. The brewery produces top-fermenting beer specialities such as Gaffel Kölsch and Gaffel Wiess, beer-mix beverages, non-alcoholic beers (Gaffel Kölsch 0.0 %, ZERO,O) as well as the multiple award-winning Gaffel Fassbrause. Since 2016, all production has taken place on the site of the former Richmodisbrauerei in Cologne-Porz-Gremberghoven, acquired in 1998; in 2020 a fully automated filling line went into operation there. In 2025, output was around 450,000 hectolitres; with the acquisition of Mühlen-Kölsch, the company reached the top of Kölsch sales by volume according to industry sources. The brewery is a member of the Cologne Brewers' Association, has signed the Kölsch Convention and is entitled to brew Kölsch. The company also includes hospitality businesses such as Gaffel am Dom in Cologne and Gaffel Haus Berlin; the beer is distributed nationally as well as in the USA, China and several EU countries.
