About PRK
Founded in 1989 by Paul Rothmund, PRK GmbH Kunststoffverarbeitung in Illmensee (Upper Swabia) is a development supplier and contract manufacturer for CNC-milled components, model and mould making, and molded parts made of fiber-reinforced composites. The company with 60 employees manufactures prototypes, cubing models, individual parts and small series on 5-axis simultaneous CNC machines from aluminium (including EN AW-6061, 7075, 2024, 5083, 6082) and plastics such as PEEK, with component lengths up to 4,500 mm. For composite products made of GFRP, CFRP and aramid, hand lamination, fiber spraying, RTM, expansion and vacuum injection processes are available, complemented by hybrid components made of aluminium, GFRP/CFRP and elastomers, machine enclosures with splinter protection, and silicone/FIPFG foam seals (IP67). The complete value chain from CAD/CAM/CAQ (Tebis, DEPOCAM) through model and tool making to painting, assembly and just-in-time logistics has been covered in-house since 2024. Customers come from mechanical engineering, automotive and commercial vehicle manufacturing, rail vehicle manufacturing, aerospace, defense technology, construction & architecture, medical technology, as well as art and trade fair construction.

Quality & Metrology
According to the company, the rework rate is in the per mille range. Since January 2025, components up to 6 × 3 × 2 m have been measured on an in-house large-format 3D coordinate measuring machine with Tebis CAQ software; inspection reports to customer standards are possible.
