About Pro CryoMechanics Germany
Pro CryoMechanics Germany GmbH (PRO CMG) plans and builds plants for the liquefaction of biomethane (Bio-LNG) and for the recovery of food-grade bio-based carbon dioxide. The company combines the product gas of existing biogas plants with cryogenic liquefaction technology from industrial gas production. In the process engineering flow, raw biogas is first compressed, cooled, dried and purified; subsequently, methane and CO2 are deeply cooled in a coldbox, separated and liquefied. Key components are turbo-expanders with speeds of up to 300,000 rpm, a rectification column for separating the liquid products, as well as refrigeration machines and storage tanks on site. The plant concepts envisage decentralized production at the sites of existing biogas plants, with short transport routes by tanker truck to the customers. Initially, the products are purchased by the transport sector as a replacement for diesel fuel, the beverage and food industry, greenhouse operators and e-fuel production.

Processes and Plant Technology
Liquefied biomethane (Bio-LNG)
Produced decentrally from biogas and used as a substitute for fossil LNG and diesel fuel in heavy-duty transport.
Bio-based carbon dioxide
Produced in food-grade quality and used in the beverage and food industry, as dry ice, in greenhouses and for e-fuel production.
Coldbox
Integrated cryogenic process for the separation, purification and liquefaction of methane and CO2.
Turbo-expander
Generate cold in the process at speeds of up to 300,000 rpm.
Rectification column
Used for separating the liquefied end products methane and carbon dioxide.
