Protection Chemicals produces stabilizers and antioxidants for all types of candles and their raw materials — colors, fragrances and waxes. The products protect candles from light, heat-induced oxidation and other chemical reactions during and after production. The portfolio includes UV absorbers, antioxidants and HALS (Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers) as powder single components, powder blends and liquid blends. In addition, the company offers light-fastness tests in self-developed light chambers, analyses of candle raw materials and the individual development of custom stabilizer blends. Through close cooperation with color, fragrance and wax suppliers and practice-oriented testing, the company founded in 2004 established itself as a leading manufacturer in the candle industry within less than ten years. The headquarters is located in Überherrn in the Saarland; further sites exist in the USA and China.

UV Absorbers
Absorb high-energy UV radiation and release it as heat, preventing yellowing and fading of the colors.
Antioxidants
Slow down the oxidation of colors, fragrances and waxes under heat during transport and production.
HALS (Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers)
Trap radicals while constantly regenerating themselves, thus providing long-lasting light protection.
Powder Stabilizers
More effective and more cost-efficient alternative to liquid products, including CS 100 (UV-A), CS 209 (UV-B), CS 7000, CS 7070.
Liquid Blends
Liquid stabilizer blends such as CS 30, especially for scented candles.
Waxes (fully and semi-refined)
Raw material whose thermal and light-induced stability is improved by antioxidants and UV absorbers.

The ISO standard 9001 has been introduced; inspections are carried out at all critical points from goods receipt to goods dispatch. Absorption curves of the raw materials are compared against standards before production, the computer-controlled production process is documented, and every finished batch is analyzed before shipping – with seamless batch traceability via software.
