Proxitron GmbH is a globally active sensor technology company with more than 35 years of experience in sensor technology and over 45 years of experience with pyrometers. The company develops and produces its products exclusively at its Elmshorn site in Germany. The portfolio includes inductive sensors (proximity switches, ring sensors, can sensors, speed monitors), optical sensors such as light barriers, laser distance sensors and hot metal detectors, pyrometers for non-contact temperature measurement from -40 °C to 2500 °C, as well as flow sensors. The devices are designed for extreme conditions: high temperatures up to 230 °C (inductive) or 600 °C (optical), cold, aggressive media, dust, steam and vibration. In addition to standard products, Proxitron adapts standard devices to customer requirements – from a quantity of 1 – and develops custom and one-off designs jointly with the customer. Its industries include the steel and rolling mill industry, metal processing, foundries and forges, can production, automotive, mechanical and plant engineering, conveying technology, wood processing, and the paper, plastics and chemical industries.
