About us

RB Bioenergie AG is a joint project of the companies Hans Berger Abfallrecycler and Remund Berger Farmtechnik-Lohnunternehmen and has been producing biodiesel (used cooking oil methyl ester, UCOME) from used frying oil at the production plant in Laupen BE since October 2006. The plant consists of the transesterification, distillation and filtration units, has a capacity of 600 liters per hour (annual capacity 4,500 tonnes) and relies on independent, modular production lines for high operational reliability and calculable capacity expansion. No methanol-contaminated wash water is generated. The biodiesel from the closed CO2 cycle is dispensed in 1000-liter IBC containers at Murtenstrasse 53 in Laupen; the entire fleet of Remund Berger is operated 100% with RB biodiesel (over 130,000 km). The catchment area for the delivery of vegetable and animal oils and fats (EWW 604) is the cantons of Bern and Fribourg (BE, FR).
