About Reactana

Reactana Katalysatoren und Chemikalien GmbH, based in Biebesheim am Rhein, about 30 minutes by car south of Frankfurt am Main Airport, was founded in 1976 by Marc Guisolan and Herbert Brunner and has been privately owned by the founders ever since. The company produces homogeneous catalysts from inorganic and organic chemistry, including cobalt acetate, manganese acetate and vanadium tris(acetylacetonate) in aqueous solutions, suspensions and crystalline form. A second pillar is the recycling of carbide scrap with cobalt as binder using a proprietary process that is also suitable for large components such as Morgan rolls; tungsten carbide powder, including the originally present doping materials, is recovered from the scrap. In addition, Reactana produces coating solutions for the contact lens industry as well as barium oxide and other specialty chemicals. The company also offers contract manufacturing and toll production in the chemical field – from raw material processing to the finished product. Customers come from the large-scale chemical industry as well as the carbide, electronics and optics industries; the export share is around 50 %, with activities in Europe, the USA and Asia.
