About Recursion

Recursion is a US TechBio company headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. The company was founded more than a decade ago on the idea of capturing cell images and using these images to train artificial intelligence to understand previously unknown disease mechanisms. At the core of the company is the proprietary Recursion OS platform, which covers drug identification and development from target identification to patient recruitment in clinical trials. In automated high-throughput laboratories, up to 2 million experiments are conducted per week, feeding a proprietary dataset of over 50 petabytes. Biology, generative de novo chemistry and translational clinical tools are combined into an end-to-end learning system of physical automation and machine learning models. The pipeline comprises clinical development programs in the areas of oncology and rare diseases, including familial adenomatous polyposis and hypophosphatasia.
