Tyre manufacturer from Heidenau near Dresden
Reifenwerk Heidenau was founded in 1946 as VEB Heidenauer Gummiwerke and has been producing tyres at its Heidenau site near Dresden for over 75 years. Its core competence lies in the manufacture of cross-ply tyres for motorcycles, scooters, mopeds as well as classic and youngtimer vehicles through to industrial applications; the range comprises more than 550 articles including natural rubber inner tubes and accessories such as rim and flap tapes, valves and rim sealing rings. The entire value chain – from in-house material research and the development of proprietary rubber compounds, through construction and design, to vulcanisation, final inspection and sales – takes place at the German site. In production, the tyres pass through more than 120 work steps with a high degree of craftsmanship, including in-house test rigs and test rides. Almost 200 employees supply B2B distributors and specialist retailers in over 60 countries worldwide from Heidenau.

Materials and processes
Proprietary rubber compounds (rubber)
In-house developed rubber compounds form the basis of the tread strips and are tailored to the respective vehicle class and application.
Natural rubber
All HEIDENAU inner tubes are made of natural rubber, which withstands mechanical stress better than synthetic materials.
Aramid (K34 Arrow material combination)
Used in the cruiser tyre K34 Arrow, enabling light steering response, driving stability and a high load index.
Cord fabric
A basic element of tyre construction, processed in the assembly stage together with the other semi-finished products into tyre blanks.
Bead wire (bead wire cores)
In-house produced bead wires that are incorporated into the tyre construction as stabilising cores.
