Ribnitzer Metallverarbeitung GmbH is a medium-sized company with around 20 employees at its site in Ribnitz-Damgarten, directly on the Bodden waters and the Baltic Sea. Since 2000, the company has carried out work in hydraulic steel construction and metalworking, generating annual revenue of EUR 2–3 million from roughly 25 construction projects per year. It manufactures steel structures for harbour construction, sea piers, jetty systems, excavation shoring as well as equipment parts such as rescue ladders, bollards, fender systems and fall-protection railings. Workshop prefabrication takes place on the enlarged company premises in three halls with machines such as a band saw, press brake, punch, shears, welding systems, pipe bending machine and column drills; assembly is carried out on construction sites. The company is certified as a welding specialist in accordance with EN 1090-2 for load-bearing components up to EXC3 and for rebar welding in accordance with DIN EN ISO 17660-1. Construction projects have been realised in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony, Denmark and Poland, among others.
