About NEUMAYER
Richard Neumayer GmbH is a family-owned company for bulk metal forming and metalworking based in Hausach in the Black Forest. The company produces flashless, near-net-shape precision forged parts with weights from 0.5 to 15 kg on manual and fully automated press lines from steel and stainless steel. The value chain also includes heat treatment, machining by turning, milling and drilling, as well as finishing and assembly on customer-specific assembly lines. About half of the manufactured parts are subsequently machined in-house; annual production volume is more than 29,000 tonnes of components. Customers include primarily the automotive and commercial vehicle industries, machinery and plant engineering, agricultural technology, robotics, off-highway applications as well as measurement and control technology; with electrification, forged drive components for electric drives are also manufactured. Beyond manufacturing, the company supports customers from materials consulting through production-oriented component design with simulation methods to series delivery, including prototypes and pre-series parts.

Materials & Processes
Steel
Main material of hot bulk forming; over 40,000 tonnes of steel are processed annually.
Stainless steel
Used alongside steel for precision forged parts.
Hot bulk forming / precision forging
Flashless, near-net-shape forging on manual and fully automated press lines with weights of 0.5–15 kg.
Heat treatment
For suitable components, heat treatment can be omitted through controlled cooling from forging heat, reducing natural gas demand by 95%.
Machining
Turning, milling and drilling of around half of the manufactured parts based on blanks optimized in advance.
Finishing & assembly
Assembly lines individually tailored to the parts to be assembled, including quality control and packaging according to customer requirements.
Process development & simulation
Production-oriented component design, design of forging dies and use of simulation methods already during component development.
