Autonomous Industrial Robotics from Munich
RobCo GmbH (until 2021 Kea Robotics GmbH) develops and manufactures modular industrial robots and autonomous robotics solutions for industry. The company emerged from over seven years of research into modular robotics at the Technical University of Munich and offers robotic systems based on a modular kit principle: individual modules are combined plug-and-play into robots with up to twelve axes, which can be configured within minutes. The modules are designed for industrial use (IP54) with payload capacities of up to 20 kg, reach of up to 3 m and a repeatability of 0.1 mm; frameless servo motors from technology partner TQ-Group are used as drives. After configuration, the company's own software automatically generates a digital twin that self-programs control, operation and collision detection. In addition to the autonomous two-handed robot Alfie, RobCo offers Embedded Robotics (co-development to series maturity), end-to-end automation and a Robotics-as-a-Service model without upfront investment. Fields of application include manufacturing, automotive, food and beverage, logistics, wood and laboratories; reference customers include Rosenberger, T-Systems and Tiskens.
