Rodermund Konstruktion und Entwicklung GmbH, or R-Kon for short, is an owner-managed mechanical engineering consultancy based in Wetter an der Ruhr in North Rhine-Westphalia. The company develops and designs machines, assemblies, fixtures and operating equipment, especially for forging plants, steel mills, forming machines and rolling mill technology. Its services include new design and modification design, technical calculations and FEM simulation, test planning and testing, damage analysis, FMEA, reverse engineering, and the tendering and supervision of manufacturing and assembly at external suppliers. In addition, R-Kon offers CAD consulting, CAD seminars and coaching for Autodesk Inventor, Siemens Solid Edge and PTC Creo, as well as the programming of scripts, iLogic rules and add-ins. Founder and managing director Felix Rodermund brought around eleven years of experience as a development design engineer at SMS in the mechanical design of ring rolling machines prior to founding the company. Customers are machine operators, design departments and manufacturing companies in the metal processing industry.
