About SHS Air Rescue

S.H.S. Helicopter Transporte GmbH (SHS Air Rescue) is an Austrian provider of civil air rescue services headquartered in Waidring in Tyrol. Since 1992, the company has been conducting emergency medical helicopter missions and operates under the call signs Heli 1 to 4 as well as Alpin Heli 6 at four bases in Tyrol (Waidring, Langkampfen, Kaltenbach) and in the Salzburg region (Zell am See). The crews – pilots, emergency physicians and flight rescuers (paramedics) – carry out around 2500 rescue missions per year, in particular mountain rescue from the air, emergency care for illnesses as well as domestic and occupational accidents in difficult intra-alpine terrain. The fleet consists of the Airbus H135 and two Bell 429 Global Rangers and is regularly modernized. According to the company, flight safety and high-quality emergency care are top priorities. In 2025, S.H.S. Helicopter Transporte GmbH was acquired by FAMAG GmbH.
