About Sägewerk Dickel
Sägewerk Dickel is an owner-managed wood processing company in the municipality of Dickel in the Diepholz district (Lower Saxony) that has existed since 1865 and is considered the oldest business in the village. Its main product is custom-sized sawn timber for the packaging and pallet industry; virtually all requested cut-to-size dimensions are produced, as far as they fall within the technical capabilities of the mill. The wood processed is predominantly beech, oak and poplar. In addition to sawn timber cutting, the mill supplies slabs and wood chips for combustion plants and other buyers, producing mainly beech slabs as well as poplar wood chips on request, and manufactures shavings and bark mulch for agriculture. Firewood products are also offered to private customers. In 1984, Heinz Weitz took over the business, which has since been continuously modernized and expanded; further expansion is in the planning stage.
