About Sägewerk Hartmann
Sägewerk Hartmann GmbH has been producing hardwood sawn timber for more than 130 years as a family business in Eiterfeld in Hesse. The company is located in the middle of a hardwood region, resulting in short delivery routes for the logs. The product range includes beech (thicknesses 18–65 mm), oak, ash and coffin pine in various grades up to block timber; production is made to order according to customer requirements regarding length, thickness and grade. The value chain comprises log sorting on a crane line, debarking and measuring, sawing with a gang saw and stellite saws or a horizontal band saw for thicker logs, steaming and drying in combined steam-drying kilns with 1000 m³ capacity, as well as measuring and climate-controlled storage. Customers are the timber trade and the wood-processing industry, which according to the company is supplied worldwide. Residual products from sawing are sold as firewood, among other things in containers of approx. 15 m³.
