About Sägewerk Heidt
Sägewerk Heidt GmbH was founded in 1929 as a carpentry business by Fritz Heidt and is today a wood processing company with its own sawmill in Burbach-Lützeln (Siegerland). At the round timber yard and on the sawing line with two gang saws and a double edger, domestic spruce and fir – around 90 % from the Kalteiche local forestry office – are sawn into squared timber, boards, planks, battens and formwork lumber. From the sawn timber produced in-house, the company manufactures pallets (standard, custom designs, machine pallets, CP pallets), crates and wooden batten enclosures for road, air and sea freight as well as custom-made products according to customer drawings made from solid wood, OSB and wood fiber boards. Since 1995 a fully automatic pallet line has been in operation; a proprietary heat chamber enables officially approved wood treatment according to ISPM 15 / IPPC for export. In addition, the service portfolio includes carpentry (roof trusses, dormers, carports, renovations) and timber trading with KVH, glulam, OSB and particle boards. Customers come from industry and trade, including the construction industry, control cabinet manufacturing and the chemical industry.
