About Sägewerk Hofmann
Sägewerk Hofmann GmbH in Cadolzburg is a family business run in the fourth generation since 1920, operating as a pine specialist producing sawn timber from softwood. The portfolio includes cants, knot-free side boards, rough window blanks and window scantlings, boards, squared timber, packaging squared timber with IPPC treatment, as well as larch products for outdoor use such as rhombus battens and decking boards; further assortments and special dimensions are sawn to order on the gang saw in lengths of up to 13 metres. The value chain ranges from debarking, log sorting and sawing, through technical kiln drying in fresh-air and exhaust-air kilns (heated by a biogas plant or district heating), IPPC heat treatment and package cross-cutting, to the planing of profiles. Raw timber is sourced exclusively in Germany and preferably regionally; as a PEFC-certified operation the sawmill guarantees sustainable timber purchasing. In addition to sawn timber, the company supplies sawmill residues such as wood chips, sawdust and bark as well as firewood; delivery is made with its own articulated lorry – small quantities included.

Quality and sustainability
As a PEFC-certified operation (Chain of Custody, audited annually), the sawmill guarantees sustainable, verifiably regional timber purchasing. Drying is carried out promptly and gently in its own fresh-air and exhaust-air kilns, and the IPPC heat treatment meets the required core temperature of at least 56 °C for 30 minutes.
