About us: Sawmill in its fourth generation

Sägewerk Martin Obermaier in Irschenberg (district of Miesbach, Upper Bavaria) is a family business run in its fourth generation with 6 employees. The company produces certified construction timber from domestic spruce and fir log stock: construction timber of strength classes C24/C30, solid structural timber (KVH), glulam GL 24h, rough sawn boards, tongue-and-groove boards, roof battens/CE battens and planed products made of spruce and larch. The focus is on large-diameter sawing: the gang saw (EWD GDZ GE-76, 70 cm pass-through, cutting length approx. 18 m) and the log bandsaw (120 cm pass-through, cutting length approx. 6.5 m) allow large cross-sections and lengths up to 18 m. For drying, two chambers with a total volume of approx. 80 m³ as well as several storage halls are available. In addition to sawing, the mill offers contract sawing of delivered round timber (up to 120 cm stump diameter), round timber purchasing within a 25 km radius, and contract cutting on cutting lines with 4-axis and 5-axis universal milling machines for components up to 0.65 m wide and 0.30 m thick in virtually unlimited length – including structural design, work preparation and delivery to the construction site. Customers are carpentry firms, timber construction companies, trade and cabinetmakers in Upper Bavaria.
