This is who we are
Sägewerk und Holzhandlung Fritz Heye is a family business from Alfhausen in Lower Saxony, run by the fourth generation since 1911. From debarked, pre-dried roundwood – predominantly spruce, alongside pine, larch, Douglas fir, poplar, oak and beech – we produce sawn timber in all cross-sections on our gang saw and double sawing line, mostly to order. Core products are construction timber to DIN 4074, square-edged lumber and boards for packaging, pallets and crates – also as short-lead-time custom variants – as well as oak fence posts and boards. In addition, we offer planing, drying, dip impregnation, heat-treated (IPPC 15) and stamped packaging timber, computer-controlled timber framing and cutting, as well as contract sawing of customer sawn timber. Deliveries are made with crane unloading directly to the construction industry, industrial companies and agriculture.

Company history
- 1911
Founded as a carpentry business with construction joinery by Fritz Heye on 01.01.1911; installation of an electric circular saw.
- 1921
Fritz Heye suffers a serious accident, operations halted; afterwards restructuring into a building materials trading business.
- 1926
New sawing hall and first horizontal band saw; son Heinrich Heye joins the company.
- 1951
Investment in new machinery, including the first gang saw.
- 1960
Death of Fritz Heye; son Heinrich Heye takes over management and expands the machinery fleet with a new gang saw.
- 1976
Major fire; rebuilding together with son Friedrich Heye, who completes his master craftsman examination as a sawmill master in the same year.

Friedrich Heye takes over the management of the company.
