About SÄKAPHEN
SÄKAPHEN GmbH, headquartered in Gladbeck, has been developing, producing and applying coatings and linings for heavy-duty corrosion protection since 1954. The thermally curing heat-cured coatings based on phenolic and epoxy-phenolic resins are applied in a multi-layer process by flooding or spraying and cured in polymerization ovens at temperatures up to 220 °C; the catalytically curing two- and multi-component systems are applied by brushing, rolling, spraying or troweling. Coated components include tube-bundle heat exchangers, condensers, scraped surface coolers, turbines, impellers, pump wheels and pump housings as well as ISO tank containers, process vessels, silos, pipework and box coolers made of carbon steel, stainless steel, super duplex, copper-nickel, high-grade alloys, titanium and concrete. The services also include blast removal of old coatings for non-destructive testing (NDT/NDE) with subsequent re-coating, two-component repair materials as well as technical consulting and application supervision. In the company's own laboratory, resistance tests are carried out and customer-specific formulations are developed. Customers come from the chemical and petrochemical industries, power plants, waste incineration plants, steel manufacturing, and the oil and gas industry.

Coating Systems and Materials
Phenolic resin (Baked Phenolic)
Single-component heat-cured coating with high chemical resistance to acidic and alkaline media, also in the immersion and gas phase.
Epoxy-phenolic resin (Baked Epoxy-Phenolic)
Thermally curing coating for heat exchangers, turbines and pump wheels for service temperatures up to 200 °C.
Epoxy, cold-curing
Two- and multi-component cold-curing coating, applicable by brushing, rolling, spraying or troweling.
Novolac vinyl ester / Epoxy vinyl ester
Cold-curing system for aggressive media, including on rotating equipment.
Ceramic-filled epoxy coating
Abrasion-resistant heat-cured coating against wear and encrustation, e.g. on pump wheels in coker units.
Carbon steel
Most common substrate for coated heat exchangers, vessels and rotating equipment.
Stainless steel
Substrate for coated plant components in the chemical process industry.
Super duplex
High-grade alloy as base material for coated heat exchangers and apparatus.
Copper-nickel (Cu-Ni)
Material for cooling and heat exchanger components exposed to water.
Titanium
Substrate for coated heat exchanger and cooler components.
Concrete
Coatable substrate alongside metallic materials.
