Since 1994, SAR Anlagenbau has specialised in the development, production and installation of water treatment systems used in conjunction with car and commercial vehicle wash systems from various manufacturers. The company in Freudenberg (Siegerland) offers biological circulation systems, chemical emulsion splitting systems, ion exchange water softening and reverse osmosis systems for desalination; the processes can be combined as required. The core product is the Purity compact system, which makes wash water 80 to 90 % reusable and, thanks to type approval Z-83.1-38, replaces the oil separator in most cases. In addition to systems for wash tunnels, self-service wash facilities, bus operators, haulage companies and petrol stations, the company also develops special systems for wastewater from industrial and production facilities. The scope of delivery includes, in addition to the treatment system, upstream components such as sludge traps, biology tanks, buffer tanks and oil or coalescence separators, including planning, retrofitting and on-site installation.

Biological process
Microorganisms on carrier media break down oils, fats and detergents without chemical additives.
Chemical process (emulsion splitting system)
Contaminants are bound to a splitting agent and filtered out via a belt filter after a settling phase.
Ion exchange (water softening)
Hardness-forming agents such as calcium and magnesium are exchanged for sodium, producing soft water of nearly 0°dH.
Reverse osmosis
High-pressure membranes remove over 99 % of all salts for spot-free final rinsing.

Quality and approvals
The Purity 3 system is tested with a general building authority approval from the German Institute of Building Technology (Z-83.1-38) in accordance with Annex 49 of the Wastewater Ordinance. The recycling water quality is monitored according to defined limit values such as conductivity ≤ 1800 µS/cm, pH value 6.5–9.5 and colony counts according to DIN EN ISO 6222 and DIN EN ISO 9308-3.
