About Sari Safran
Sari Safran (Avocado Productions GmbH) cultivates saffron (Crocus sativus) on its own fields in Sarigyugh, Tavush region, Armenia. Started in 2017 with 2,000 m², the cultivation area will cover around 8,000 m² in 2026. The entire value chain is handled in-house: partly mechanised planting, avoidance of pesticides and herbicides, organic fertilisation, field rotation every five years, and fully manual harvesting in the early morning hours. After the harvest, the stigmas are separated by hand and trimmed to the purely red sections (coupé selection), followed by a multi-stage, proprietary drying process. Laboratory tests according to ISO 3632 regularly confirm Category 1. In addition to pure saffron threads, the company offers refined products such as saffron salt with Swiss Fleur des Alpes salt from Bex, syrup, vinegar, jam, grissini and chocolate, as well as gift boxes. Distribution takes place via the company's own online shop with shipping from Rain (Lucerne), as well as via wholesale, corporate gifts and the company's own Saffron House guesthouse on site.
