About us
Sauerland Spanplatte is a family-owned wood-based materials manufacturer in its third generation, headquartered in Arnsberg in the Sauerland region. Since 1951, the company has produced extruded tubular and solid chipboard panels used as door inserts in modern interior doors for sound insulation, fire resistance, burglar resistance and dimensional stability, in both residential and commercial construction. The raw material is untreated sawmill residual wood from surrounding sawmills. In addition to door inserts in the tubular, sound insulation, fire protection and profile variants, the company produces stacking timbers as a packaging solution, primarily for the gypsum board industry, with a load capacity of 12 tons per stacking timber. Production takes place at the main plant in Arnsberg and, since 1992, at the Gotha plant (Spanplattenwerk Gotha GmbH) on extrusion lines. Around 430 employees produce standard sizes from stock as well as products made to order; a customer portal offers downloads, production overviews and a design database.

Materials and processes
Wood-based material (chipboard)
Extruded tubular and solid chipboard panels for door inserts with low thickness swelling and high compressive strength.
Untreated sawmill residual wood
Untreated residual wood from German sawmills as a sustainable raw material basis for panels and stacking timbers.
Extrusion process
Process developed since 1949 and adopted in 1951 for the continuous production of tubular and solid chipboard panels.
