About SWF
Sauerstoffwerk Friedrichshafen GmbH (SWF) is an independent, autonomous company in the gas industry with locations in Friedrichshafen, Bielefeld and Aitrach. Its production and delivery range covers the entire spectrum of industrial gases. Base products are the air gases oxygen, nitrogen and argon in the highest purity (HLOX) as well as their mixtures for research, development and engineering. The portfolio is complemented by medical gases, specialty gases and custom gas mixtures, acetylene, ammonia, refrigerants, liquefied petroleum gas and hydrogen. With two of its own air separators and a nationwide sales partner network, SWF supplies customers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France around the clock, 365 days a year. Green air gases are produced using electricity from 100 % renewable energy. As part of the SWF Hydrogen project, a 5-MW PEM electrolyser for the production of high-purity green hydrogen is being built at the Aitrach-Ferthofen site, funded by the state of Baden-Württemberg (€4.76 million).
