Sauerstoffwerk Steinfurt E. Howe GmbH & Co. KG is a family-owned company based in Steinfurt whose origins go back to a machine factory founded in 1890. Since 1975, the gas business has operated independently, supplying customers with technical, medical and food-grade gases – from welding and cutting shielding gases and laser gases to custom and calibration gases made to customer specifications. Production and filling take place in two of the company's own filling plants in Steinfurt and Nordhorn. In addition, the company manufactures filling technology such as filling manifolds made of copper or stainless steel tubing as well as bronze and stainless steel corrugated hoses, plans and installs ambient vaporizer systems and central gas supply systems, and offers a cryogenic nitrogen service. At its main site in Steinfurt, the approximately 50 employees operate a ZÜS inspection station in cooperation with DEKRA for pressure vessel testing in accordance with BetrSichV, as well as a maintenance operation with blasting systems and an automated powder coating system. Customer supply is handled by the company's own fleet of trucks and tank vehicles with ADR-qualified drivers within a 250 km radius, and nationwide via forwarding agents.

Quality & Testing
Pressure vessels are tested in the company's own ZÜS inspection station in cooperation with DEKRA in accordance with BetrSichV; gas cylinders, LPG tanks, diving cylinders and breathing apparatus cylinders are subject to recurring inspection requirements. After testing and reconditioning, valve assembly, embossing and labeling are carried out by the company's own specialist team.
