SAXAS Nutzfahrzeuge Werdau GmbH manufactures vehicle bodies, trailers in all weight classes and swap containers for commercial and special-purpose vehicles. At its headquarters in Werdau, Saxony, the value chain includes custom development and design on modern 3-D systems, welding production to DIN 2303 on 15 fully automatic robotic systems for large assemblies through to series production, and final assembly on 8 independent assembly lines. At its own plant in Crossen an der Elster, powder coating including pretreatment and certified painting with NIR paints is carried out. The company mainly works with steel and, as an original equipment supplier, delivers directly to the assembly lines of leading truck manufacturers. Certified general contractor partnerships exist with, among others, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, MAN, DAF, Volvo, Renault, Iveco and SCANIA. In addition to the civilian Commercial business segment, SAXAS supplies customers worldwide—including military and disaster relief organisations—through its Defence business segment.
