About the manufactory

SAXONIA Feinsteinzeug Manufaktur e. K. operates the Manufakturhaus Kannegießer in Neukirch/Lausitz and has been producing ceramics and porcelain there since 1824. The product range includes tableware series from its own collections, customised series for brands, design studios, cities and events (including mulled wine and event mugs for the Dresden Striezelmarkt), ceramic blanks for potteries and craft businesses, as well as technical ceramics for function-critical components. Shaping is performed using high-pressure casting, low-pressure casting, casting, jiggering, jolleying/overforming, static dry pressing, stamping and free throwing on the potter's wheel; this is followed by electric and gas firing, glazing, decoration with traditional sponge and brush painting, and robot-assisted handle attachment. In-house machine development, CAD/CAM construction, model and tool making, and a proprietary process for jointless ceramics (awarded a special prize by the Saxon Chambers of Crafts in 2017) complement the craft repertoire. Annual capacity exceeds 200,000 mugs.
