SchahlLED Lighting GmbH, based in Unterschleißheim near Munich, is the German subsidiary of the listed British group FW Thorpe Plc (Thorlux Lighting). Since 1936, professional lighting systems have been developed, manufactured and distributed; a key production and development site is a company campus of almost 17,000 m² in Redditch near Birmingham. The product range comprises highly efficient LED luminaires for industrial, office and outdoor lighting as well as emergency lighting systems, including LED boards, sensors and controllers developed in-house. Manufacturing includes LED prototyping, sheet steel processing for luminaire housings and assembly; new products are developed with 3D CAD systems and tested for electrical, thermal and mechanical properties before series production. A photometric laboratory with a goniophotometer and Ulbricht sphere (integrating sphere) ensures the measurement of light distribution, light quality and efficiency. Products are sold, among other channels, through the company's own sales branches in Germany, Ireland, the UAE and Australia.

Quality and Certification
The production operation in the United Kingdom holds certified quality management to ISO 9001:2015. An LIA-registered photometric laboratory with a goniophotometer and an Ulbricht sphere with spectral analyser measures light distribution, light quality, efficiency and colour temperature; extensive tests cover electricals, EMC, dust/water ingress and ambient temperatures.
