Schalker Grobblech-Handel e.K. is a steel trading company founded in 1996 in Gelsenkirchen, specialising in heavy plate, random-length plates and target-rolled slabs. At the headquarters, over 9,000 tonnes of heavy plate with thicknesses of 4 to 300 mm are permanently available on 7,000 sqm of storage space, supplemented by a storage facility in the Saarland and a sales office in southern Germany. Core services include the cutting of flame-cut parts to customer specifications (random-length plates), the supply of stock large formats in widths of 2,000, 2,500 and 3,000 mm as well as slabs from 45 to 300 mm. In addition, sandblasting to SA 2,5 EN ISO 12944, re-stamping of materials, material testing using an in-house spectral analysis device, as well as ultrasonic and acceptance testing (Z15–Z35, ABV according to SEP 1390, KBZ) are offered. Customers come from the steel processing industry, from construction companies and construction sites, and from recycling businesses, which are also provided with roadway plates, cover plates and mobile construction roads – partly on loan. Delivery is just in time from the company's own stock.
