About Scherer GmbH

Scherer GmbH Zerspantechnik, Maschinenbau, based in Schmelz (Saarland), has been producing turned and milled parts for mechanical engineering and toolmaking since 1991, as well as the machining and processing of machine components. Working on a fleet of twelve CNC-controlled machines, the company manufactures single parts, series parts and assemblies up to complete small-scale systems – from design through production to assembly. Materials include tool steel, case-hardening steel, high-strength tempering steel, Hardox, brass and plastics. The range of services includes CNC turning with driven tools, 5-axis machining on a turn-mill center, CNC milling up to 2000 mm length, sawing, welding (MIG, MAG, TIG) as well as repair and reconditioning. Surface treatment and coating are handled by certified partner companies. Quality is assured by 3D coordinate measurement and roughness measurement; the company is certified to ISO 9001. As a subcontract supplier, Scherer serves well-known companies with its own vehicle fleet, mature warehousing and production in three-shift operation.
