About Schiefergruben MAGOG
The Schiefergruben MAGOG are a family-owned company in Bad Fredeburg in the Sauerland region, with more than 160 years of experience in slate mining. The company operates its own slate mine at its headquarters, where it extracts Fredeburger Schiefer®, a natural stone that is processed above ground into slabs for roofing, facades, floors and interiors. In addition, MAGOG imports quality slate extracted from open-pit Spanish quarries. The product portfolio includes slate tiles in oversized formats for floors, slate veneer, and system solutions for roof-integrated photovoltaics, combining roof covering and power generation in one system. Alongside production, the company offers consulting on roof renovation and funding programs. Its customers are building owners, architects, and the construction, facade and solar trades, primarily in the German-speaking region.
