SCHMID Anlagenbau GmbH is a medium-sized, internationally active special machinery manufacturer headquartered in Göfis (Vorarlberg) with a design office in Egg. Founded in 1982 by Werner Schmid, the company develops and manufactures custom special machinery and systems, in particular conveyor technology including heavy-duty conveyors for loads up to 80 tonnes, lifting technology, portal systems and systems for the food sector. The high level of vertical integration covers project planning and design, control and electrical engineering, machining, welding, painting, factory assembly as well as final assembly, commissioning and after-sales service, all in-house. Fields of application include, among others, fruit farming, bakeries, car wash systems, the stamping and pressing of aluminium blocks, and the corrugated cardboard industry; the materials used include steel, plastic, wood and pressed chipboard. All manufacturing takes place in Vorarlberg, and the energy demand is partly self-generated through large-scale photovoltaic systems.
