Schmid Engineering GmbH is an owner-managed engineering and software company founded in 2009 and headquartered in Freudenstadt. The company develops production-related software, MES and host computer systems (SCADA), solutions for machine and operational data acquisition (MDE/BDE), CAQ software, Digital Shopfloor Management as well as test automation and testing technology. In its development division, Schmid Engineering specializes in control device development, testing and diagnostics for the automotive industry. In-house developments such as the DataSErver with integrated OPC-UA server enable the networking of machines of different ages, the retrofitting of existing systems and real-time visualization of production data. Customers include Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, SMS group, DGS Druckguss Systeme AG and Hansgrohe. In addition to four locations in Germany, QDaTech GmbH belongs to the company.
