About Schmidt-Leuchten
Schmidt-Leuchten is a manufacturer of object and custom luminaires founded in 1957 in the Sauerland region. The family business produces all luminaires in-house on site: milling, turning and soldering are carried out by the company itself; only a few parts that cannot be manufactured internally are sourced from suppliers in the region. Every luminaire is designed to be individually adaptable – colors, shapes, shade sizes and the type of base can be customized to customer requirements; the design work is done with modern CAD software. Customers include hotels, restaurants and gastropubs, churches and commercial properties, including the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten, Hotel Rimberg, Hotel Schütte and Hotel Main Chateau. The company is run by Paul Michael Schmidt and his sons Matthias and Maximilian in the second and third generation. In addition to custom-made products, the company offers its own luminaire series such as Libro, Focus Slim and Pluto.

Company History
- 1957
Herbert Schmidt acquired old wagon wheels from farms in the surrounding area and made rustic luminaires from them for home living rooms – the founding year of the company.
