About Schmitt Söhne Winery
Schmitt Söhne GmbH Weinkellerei is a family-owned wine trading and production company based in Longuich on the Mosel since 1919, now run by the fifth generation. From a small regional winery, the company has developed into one of the leading German wine exporters. The value chain covers wine production, bottling and packaging technology at its own facilities in Longuich as well as worldwide distribution, among other things via its own import company in Millersville, Maryland (USA), with nine additional sales offices. The range includes quality wines through Prädikat wines (Kabinett, Spätlese, Auslese) from the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer and Rheinhessen growing regions, including the brands Schmitt Söhne Family, Relax, Fünf, Thomas Schmitt Private Collection and Global Roaming. In addition to glass bottles, the company uses alternative packaging such as Bag-in-Box, KeyKegs, PET bottles and returnable bottles. Various quality management systems such as HACCP, BRC and ISO are an integral part of production and management processes. The company operates offices in 24 countries and exports worldwide.
