Abrasives manufacturer since 1935

Schmitz Schleifmittelwerk GmbH, headquartered in Remscheid, has been developing, manufacturing and distributing bonded abrasives since 1935. The company produces mineral-, bakelite-, epoxy resin-, polyurethane- and magnesite-bonded as well as ceramic-bonded and rubberized abrasives and flap wheels. The portfolio includes grinding segments, cup wheels, cylinders, discs, rolls, rings, polishing wheels and special shapes in more than 1,000 shapes and sizes. Over 120 grain types are processed – including white corundum, ruby corundum, zirconia corundum and silicon carbide – in grit sizes from 16 to 1,200, combined with various bond types. The products are used in a wide range of industries worldwide, especially in the tool and machine knife / cutting goods industry. In addition to series production, the company develops customer-specific abrasives and supplies special shapes, product samples within one to two days, call-off quotas and consignment stock.
