About Schniewindt
Schniewindt is an owner-managed family company founded in 1829, headquartered in Neuenrade (Sauerland), today managed by the sixth generation. The company, with around 200 employees worldwide, develops and manufactures electric heating technology (tubular heaters, screw-in heaters, cartridge heaters, flange heaters, flow heaters, air heaters, industrial immersion heaters) as well as customer-specific high-power and high-voltage resistors such as braking, earthing, discharge and filter/damping resistors based on the Schniewindt grid invented in 1902. A third pillar is power transmission technology with RC voltage dividers for voltage measurement up to 1100 kVDC. Production is mainly from stainless steels (including 1.4404, 1.4435, 1.4571, 1.4539) and nickel alloys; the manufacturing spectrum includes fusion welding according to ISO 3834-2, the manufacture of pressure equipment under Module H, as well as engineering, assembly and commissioning of complete systems, such as electric steam generation systems in containers. Customers include mechanical and plant engineering, chemical plant construction, pharmaceutical technology, energy technology, thermal process engineering, rail transport and naval technology; deliveries are made worldwide via trading partners.
