About SBPT
Schoeller-Bleckmann Precision Technology GmbH (SBPT) is a metalworking industrial company in Ternitz, Lower Austria, and a 100% subsidiary of SBO AG, which is listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange. The company develops and markets its own amagnetic NonMag steels and manufactures high-precision parts from them for the oilfield industry, in particular core components for MWD/LWD borehole surveying tools, which are exported to all producing regions of the world. Around 320 employees work on more than 120 CNC-controlled machines across approximately 45,000 m². The manufacturing spectrum includes 5-axis mill-turn complete machining up to 11 m material length, BTA deep-hole drilling up to 300 mm diameter and 11 m depth, single-lip drilling, patented EDM technology for curved bores (Goose Neck Drilling), laser deposition welding, shot peening for surface hardening, and additive manufacturing (Powder Bed Fusion) as a contract manufacturer for Velo3D with part sizes up to 600 mm diameter and 550 mm height. Further business areas are aerospace (SBAT brand, EN/AS 9100-certified since 2016), plant and mechanical engineering, and high-tech product manufacturing.
