About the workshop

The Schokowerkstatt is a queer workshop collective of five carpenters and one architect in Berlin-Kreuzberg. The wood workshop is located at Mariannenstraße 6 in the rear courtyard, 1st floor. It operates as an association that has existed under the name Schokowerkstatt for around 30 years. It offers workshops in furniture making and carpentry, including beginner courses with small projects such as stools and games as well as advanced furniture-building courses in which participants implement their own projects with guidance in planning and construction. The courses are held in German and English; group and private courses are available on request. The collective originated around seven years ago on an LGBTIQ construction site in France; three years ago, the workshop of the Schokofabrik Kreuzberg was taken over.
