About Schorschbräu
Schorschbräu GmbH is a specialty brewery founded in 1996 by Georg Tscheuschner in Gunzenhausen in the Franconian Lake District. The company brews traditional and innovative beers according to the German Beer Purity Law (Reinheitsgebot), with a particular focus on strong beers and icebocks. The very high alcohol contents are achieved through special beer yeasts, high malt quantities and at least four months of storage; for the icebocks, the traditional icebock process is used, in which the beers are chilled and the resulting ice is filtered off. The brewery became best known for the Schorschbock 57%, which is considered the strongest beer in the world. The brewery exclusively supplies business customers who value handcrafted beer specialities, and also sells its products through its own online shop. In addition, limited and collaborative beer specialities (collab brews) are produced, including the Schorschbock 25% Oak Aged, an icebock matured in American white oak, and wheat-icebock variants up to 30% vol.
