About Schotter- und Steinwerk Weißenburg
Schotter- und Steinwerk Weißenburg GmbH & Co. KG operates a quarry in Weißenburg in Bavaria and produces natural building stones from Jura limestone as well as crusher products. The product range includes machine-split wall stones in the size classes small, medium and large, Roman masonry, step treads, seat stones, coarse masonry stones as well as filter gravel, hydraulic engineering stones, chippings and aggregates. In production, the marl layer of the core stones is milled off almost completely, creating a pure visible surface and achieving up to 50 % tighter dimensional tolerances than is customary in the industry. The company sorts the extracted materials by suitability into natural building stones, wall stones and chippings, so that every stone receives the best possible application. The products are used primarily in landscaping, in retaining walls, for slope stabilization, in hydraulic engineering as well as in hotel and sports facility projects. Reference projects include the Sportpark Rems in Schorndorf (2014, 800 tonnes), the wellness outdoor area of the Landhaus Sponsel-Regus (2019, 225 tonnes) and a private garden in Berching (2020, 100 tonnes).
