About Schotterwerk Clemens

Schotterwerk Clemens GmbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Gummersbach, operates the large greywacke quarry Stentenberg west of Bergneustadt in the Oberbergisch district. On a quarry site of around 80 hectares, quartzite-bearing greywacke (grey quartzite) is extracted by drilling and blasting in accordance with established regulations and standards. The raw material, with a maximum piece size of up to 1400 mm, is processed via primary and secondary crushers as well as several cone crushers into ballast, high-quality grit, foundation material, crushed sand, sand-grit mixtures, armourstone and heavy-duty wall blocks. The greywacke is characterized by high abrasion resistance and a high PSV value and is used, among other things, on runways at the Cologne and Düsseldorf airports. Delivery is carried out with an own fleet of 15 semi-trailers to the Cologne-Düsseldorf region as well as to the Dutch market. The company is part of the Dutch Van Nieuwpoort Group.
