About Schürfeld Umformtechnik
Schürfeld Umformtechnik GmbH was founded in 1862 in Halver and developed from a tool manufacturer into a supplier of die-forged parts. The family-run company produces forged parts with unit weights up to 25 kg on hydraulic forging hammers with electric heating; within the group of companies, weights up to 30 kg are possible. Materials processed include steels of all standard alloys, rust-resistant and heat-resistant steels as well as non-ferrous metals. The value chain covers design and development of die-forged products, in-house toolmaking on HSC milling machines, cold coining on hydraulic presses, and mechanical further processing by drilling, milling and coining to produce ready-to-install parts. Customers are found primarily in automotive engineering, mechanical engineering and railway superstructure. The company is certified to IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and ISO 50001 and holds the DB HPQ Oberbau distinction as well as an AEO certificate.

Materials and Processes
Die Forging
Hydraulic forging hammers with electric heating produce forged parts with unit weights up to 25 kg.
Cold Coining
Calibrating die-forged blanks on hydraulic presses achieves tighter tolerances.
Steel (Standard Alloys)
Main material of the die-forged parts according to customer specification.
Rust-Resistant Steels
For forged parts subject to corrosion.
Heat-Resistant Steels
For thermally highly stressed applications.
Non-Ferrous Metals
Non-ferrous metals are processed individually according to customer specification.
Toolmaking
All forming tools are produced in the in-house tool shop on HSC milling machines.
