About SLV Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Schweißtechnische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt Mecklenburg-Vorpommern GmbH (SLV M-V GmbH) was founded in 1994 and operates with its headquarters in Rostock and a branch office in Greifswald. The company offers courses and certifications in welding technology, including for welding supervisory personnel (SFI, ST, SFM, SWM, IWE/IWT), welder examinations in all welding processes, NDT courses according to DIN EN ISO 9712, as well as training in laser and additive manufacturing processes. The Materials Engineering department operates a testing laboratory accredited to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 for destructive and non-destructive testing, metallography, spectrometry and corrosion testing on metallic materials and welded joints. Further services include certification according to EN 1090, EN 15085, ISO 3834, ISO 9001 and ISO 17660, construction supervision of welded structures, failure analysis and expert opinions, procedure testing as well as research and development with a focus on additive manufacturing (Powder Bed Fusion, Directed Energy Deposition) and welding software (WeldWare®, Niroware®). SLV M-V GmbH is an approved body under the State Building Code of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (MV003) and approved by Germanischer Lloyd for laser cladding of ship engine components, and as a cooperation partner of DVS ZERT GmbH it works together with GSI mbH. Its shareholder is SLV Halle GmbH.
