Schwendler & Co KG in Friedrichsthal (Saarland) develops, manufactures and distributes technical ceramic products and measuring devices for temperature measurement. The product range includes ceramic kiln furniture such as supports, beams, rollers, setting plates, carrier plates, saggers and cassettes for the refractory and ceramics industry, prefabricated ceramic tubes up to 3000 mm in length, rollers for roller hearth kilns up to 4500 mm in length, as well as pyrometer protection tubes, insulating rods, thermocouples and temperature indicators. In terms of materials, a broad spectrum is covered, ranging from alumina and mullite grades (ALOXI) through various silicon carbide variants (NSIC, OxSIC, RSIC, SiSIC) to the in-house developed material SIC-ALOXI© for rapid-cooling zones; additionally cordierite, metal rollers made of Cr-Ni alloys and special formats with tolerances down to ±0.005 mm. Production is carried out in single-item and series production according to DIN EN ISO 9001. Further product areas are filter technology for gas analysis, level measurement technology for silos and the construction of hand calorimeters with its own accredited testing laboratory. 70% of production is exported; the company is managed by the fourth generation.

Production is carried out under quality control according to DIN EN ISO 9001. Pyrometer tubes are individually tested for gas tightness at 15 bar; for calorimeters and gas analysis devices, the company issues test, calibration and acceptance certificates with its own accredited testing laboratory.
